Œ‹‰Ê‚Ì•½“™‚Í‚È‚¢BTherefs no equal outcome.

Ifm a very big believer in equal opportunity as opposed to equal outcome.
I donft believe in equal outcome because unfortunately lifefs not like that. It would be a pretty boring place if it was. (Steve Job:1955)

Interview with Steve Jobs

He also says that to give equal opportunity means to give a great education to everybody.
gBut I really believe in equal opportunity. Equal opportunity to me more than anything means a great education. Maybe even more important than a great family life, but I don't know how to do that. Nobody knows how to do that. But it pains me because we do know how to provide a great education. We really do. We could make sure that every young child in this country got a great education. We fall far short of that. I know from my own education that if I hadn't encountered two or three individuals that spent extra time with me, I'm sure I would have been in jail. I'm 100% sure that if it hadn't been for Mrs. Hill in fourth grade and a few others, I would have absolutely have ended up in jail.h

Good education ---effort and competition---good outcome

Poor education---effort and competition---poor outcome

What is lacking in the policy of gno equal outcomeh is equal opportunity. Equal opportunity means a great education, as Steve Jobs says. Are all children in Japan given a great education, especially in terms of English education? Do they all spend one summer in an English-speaking country to learn and practice English? Are there some who spend half a year or one year outside Japan to learn English when they are at elementary or junior high schools? Do they all have good English conversation schools where they can practice English after school? Are their parents wealthy enough to send their children to such extra schools? Can all the Japanese families afford extra education for their children that is not given at public schools?

The gno equal outputh policy will create a small number of excessive winners and the rest, losers just to serve them as laborers, consumers and near-slaves, unless a good education for everybody and fair competition are guaranteed. It will create an unfair class society, which is quite fair seen from the winners.

Egalitarianism aims at creating as large a number of winners in different fields of cultural and economic activities, or in other words, it aims at creating society where all people have the right to maintain the minimum standards of wholesome and cultured living.
