Overall Project Team
Outline
While consolidating the findings of each group, this project team conducts research on cross-cutting issues mainly from the theoretical perspective, which are not well-covered by each project individually, particularly in relation to international and the Japanese domestic initiatives.
Projects
Theoretical Research: The ESD projects in the Asia-Pacific region take different forms according to each social, economic, and environmental condition. Also, CSR in business sector has recently attracted increasing attention in terms of promoting sustainable development. These ESD research products based at the community and actor level will provide significant theoretical perspectives for broadening the possibility and promoting the future projects. This project team academically disseminates these research products to the public based on the findings from each project teams both domestically and internationally.

International Networking: Attending various international conferences related to ESD, this team will follow and introduce the information about the latest trend of international ESD research to the domestic field. It will also work on network development with other international research institutions to further ESD projects.
Feedback to the Practical field
This team shares its research outcomes with the public in a number of ways as below.

Directing ESD programs: Based on the research products from each project teams, the overall project team will direct ESD capacity-building programs for educators and trainers to each region and participates in launching the projects. This team also develops ESD programs for higher education in the Northeast region of Asia.
Eco OPERA! TM
ESDRC coordinates the ESD programs collaboratively with the affiliated schools of Rikkyo University (elementary, middle, and high schools) to fulfill the social responsibility as an institution of higher education. Offering children a learning experience about coral reefs, "Eco OPERA!TM", is one of our collaborative educational efforts between businesses, local governments, and schools based in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. This project also organizes symposiums, exhibitions, and drawing contests for children to learn about environmental education in terms of marine environmental conservation and global warming.
