Toronto Youth Museum

Works made in Advance Class of Toronto Kokugo Kyoshitsu in September 2014. What did the participants of the workshop want to exhibit in Toronto Youth Museum? What is my town Toronto? What are my precious memories of it? The answers are exhibited in this room.

 Toronto Island @ Ryu Kaizen

I drew Toronto Island, maple leaves, the shadow of the night in Toronto, using my art sense.

  Town Toronto @ Kim Theresa

I drew town Toronto, gathering newspapers from many other countries and sticking on the sheet. It’s because Toronto is multicultural place.

  People in Toronto @ Yoko

I made people in Toronto. Toronto has a parade of Worldpride, and also made the team of Maple Leaf in Toronto. Everybody loves Hockey. And Toronto has multiple culture, and different people. That’s why I made them.

Salmon and Tuna Roll @ Kohei

I have been in Toronto for 1 year and 3 months and I made works of Sushi. Though this is seemingly Japanese, salmon and tuna roll of Toronto have the same taste as ones of Japan in spite of other sushi taste a bit different.

  Shopping Mall @ Mai

I made a shopping mall. I go shopping with my mother and my friends and buy a lot of cloths there.

  Misa-pyon Rabbit @ Nico

This is Misa-pyon Rabbit, though it has nothing to do with Toronto, my best rabbit friend called Misaki. My friend made this character and this rabbit is the most favorite white rabbit. I talk to her every day and she always makes me smile.

TTC Bus @ Montgomery Rie

I made a bus, this bus takes me from school to my house or go to Toronto Eaton Center with my friends. Speaking of Toronto, it’s TTC because every time someone becomes a mayor they bring up the question about TTC.

My Hobbies @ Ellenberg Max

I made works of my hobbies which I like. For example I made a bicycle because I go to school by bicycle or go to many other places on weekends too. I also like school, and started learning abacus when I was 5 or 6, now I am a shodan in it. I also made a piano because I like it, and made Pokemon characters because I always play it with DS.

  Seasons @ Fuzo

I often play with snow. Squirrels are not very seen in Japan, so I made seasons in Toronto.

Get Hungry @ Kane (Visitor)

Toronto is often said as multiculture. It has good meanings but in bad meanings Toronto has nothing special. So I hastened to make a fallen chicken and egg on rice, boiled egg, bones of saury, and some Poutines, fallowing my feeling which is I am hungry right now. These poutines has weird flavors like cod ovum, lemon, and kale.

Ponkotsu(Junk) Robot @ Keichi

He is a Ponkotsu robot as you can see. ‘Ponkotsu’ means  unusable. But just like everybody likes Dora-emon, even the robot is unusable. Japanese like these kinds of robots.
