UMASS & Mt TobyLuc Koharazawa Mullin

I made UMASS builing and Mt. Toby that I go hiking with my family.

Doughnuts and the UMass libraryNolan

I made doughnuts because there is a delicious doughnut shop in Amherst. I also made the UMass library building.

Flying EagleYusuke and Mom

I often see them in the sky. It is a flying eagle.

Farmer’s MarketMei Saito

This is on my way home from the Farmer’s Market.

Winter Wonderland in AmherstTakanori Mizuhara and Seiha Hiroi

We made this thinking of the way Amherst looks during the winter. We included a snow man and icicles. The panda is unrelated!
We added some stars, and topped it off with aluminum foil to complete our winter wonderland.

Quabbin ReservoirHI

The Quabbin Reservoir is located near Amherst. Just as Lake Biwa supplies water to the Osaka metropolitan area, the Quabbin acts as a water supply for Boston. While filling up this artificial lake, the many towns that existed before disappeared into the water, and now rest at the lakebed. Today, the area is a popular destination for fall foliage.

An autumn house in Amherst@Yan

Amherst, including the whole Pioneer Valley area is very famous for its fall foliage. This area is also famous for the colleges with long history. I pictured the way leaves fall onto the roofs of houses as autumn approaches.

Halloween in AmherstMaya Fraser

I made the town of Amherst during Halloween. This is a Halloween ghost mask. During this time of year, the whole town prepares Halloween decorations, and we celebrate on the last day of October.

The maple sugar trees that I like so muchSeneca Mori

I made the maple sugar trees and the stream around my house. I like the maple sugar tree so much because I like to get maple sap from it with daddy, and I like the maple sugar from it . And chipmunks are living in it!

Amherst Japanese Language SchoolMakoto Saito

The Japanese School plays a central role in our life. People with different backgrounds from all around come to the school, often from afar. It is not an easy road with many twists and turns along the way, but all of the students put a lot of effort into learning the Japanese language. I made this to represent these ideas.

FarmKosuke Watanabe and Sho Fraser

This is a farm. We built it because we pass farms when we go to school. It has a red barn with hay bales inside of it. These hay bales are built out of real hay. We made a river because we usually see rivers along the farms. I think this represents Amherst.
